Sorry for dropping off the map for a week there. I was neck deep in getting ready for a wedding! It ended up being a great day and it was a huge privilege to be a bridesmaid for two of my dearest friends and to see them off to their new life together.
And I’m back today, fresh from exhausting wedding preparations and pack ups, to give you a fun little tag! I’m not sure who invented this tag, but I do know it was originally a YouTube challenge, but it’s been converted to a blog tag for quite some time now and that’s how I’m going to do it today, just to give you guys a little tour of my bookshelf!
Let’s get to it 🙂
Do you have a book with deckled edges?
Pretty sure I don’t…
Nope. I don’t.
Do you have a book with 3 or more people on the cover?

My copy of A Tale of Two Cities has Sydney Carton, plus a crowd of revolutionaries on the front, so there’s that!
Do you have a book based on another book?
I have King Arthur and His Knights of the Round Table by Roger Lancelyn Green, which is based, mainly, on Le Morte D’Arthur.
Do you have a book with a title 10 letters long?
A Time to Die by Nadine Brandes is exactly ten letters long!
Do you have a book with a title that starts and ends with the same letter?
The Hobbit by J.R.R. Tolkien starts and ends with T!
Do you have a Mass Market Paperback?

Yes. I think my copy of Little Women by Louisa May Alcott is Mass Market.
Do you have a book written by an author using a pen name?
God’s Smuggler by Brother Andrew.
Do you have a book with a character’s name in the title?
The Pendragon Cycle! Taliesin, Merlin and Arthur by Stephen Lawhead.
Do you have a book with two maps in it?
The Magician’s Daughter by Justyn Walker has two maps in the beginning, as do the next two books in the trilogy!
Do you have a book that was turned into a TV show?
Les Miserables by Victor Hugo was turned into a BBC miniseries last year (you can read my review of it here!)
Do you have a book written by someone who was originally famous for something else? (Celebrity/athlete/politician/tv personality)
Kisses from Katie by Katie Davis Majors. She was originally famous for her humanitarian work in Uganda and her fourteen adopted girls.
Do you have a book with a clock on the cover?
That’s weirdly specific. But yes, I do. My copy of The Ancient Machine by Justyn Walker has a clock on the cover. Unfortunately, I don’t have a picture of the cover!
Do you have a book of poetry?

Yes, The Collected Works of Banjo Paterson.
Do you have a book with an award stamp on the cover?

My copy of The Giver by Lois Lowry does, I think.
Do you have a book written by an author with the same initials as you?
I don’t!
Do you have a book of short stories?
I actually have two and I’m published in both of them…not to brag or anything 😛
Do you have a book that’s between 500-510 pages long?
La Morte D’Arthur by Sir Thomas Malory has 509, not including the appendices.
Do you have a book that was turned into a movie?
So many! But I’ll just leave The Eagle of the Ninth by Rosemary Sutcliff here.
Do you have a graphic novel?
Nope. Not a single one.
Do you have a book written by two or more authors?
Jungle Pilot by Russel T Hitt and Steve Saint.
Anyway! I got almost all of them! I guess that shows I have a pretty eclectic collection of books on my shelf, I dunno know.
How about you guys? Have you done this book challenge? Do you have a book written by someone with the same initials as you? What do you think of deckled edges?
Never heard of this challenge

This was interesting to read! Do you read a lot of classics? I love classics, when I get around to reading them. 😉

You have quite the varied collection! (Which is kind of the fun thing about this challenge, I guess, highlighting that.)
I’m curious, did you use all books you liked?
Deckled edges make pages SUPER HARD TO TURN and I am glad they are not all that common.
I’m glad you’re back! And I’m glad the wedding was lovely.

I haven’t checked, but I probably have books to fit almost all of these requirements. I probably don’t have a book by an author with the same initials as me though.
Personally I think deckled edges are kind of pleasing. Especially on my copy of The Tale of Despereaux, because it makes it look like the mice have been nibbling at the pages.

This was a fun tag to read through! I’ve seen a lot of people do it on YouTube but haven’t really thought to do it myself! Maybe I’ll do it sometime, though! Personally, I don’t particularly mind deckled edges and I think I have maybe one book–maybe two–with them. I haven’t seen many books with deckled pages recently, though!

Okay first, being a bridesmaid sounds like so much fun!! The most I’ve ever done was be one of the musicians in a wedding and it was still so enchanting. 😆
Second, I love this tag and so many of these books!! 👏

I read quite a lot of classics, but there’s still plenty I haven’t read. I have mixed feelings on them. There’s a lot of famous ones I don’t like, but plenty I love as well!

Yes I do! I have a lot of favourite books in a lot of different genres.
Yes, mostly. I’m a pretty big minimalist so I only tend to keep books that are five star reads for me. The rest I either get from the library or donate after I’ve read them. So yeah, most of these books are on my favourites list.
Yeah, deckled edges can be really annoying!
Thanks 🙂

What a fun tag! I might do it too! I have many of these books as well, like Kisses from Katie, God’s Smuggler, and A Time To Die 🙂

It definitely was fun to try and find different books to match the criteria 🙂 Yeah, they’re great books!

It was a lot of fun. A lot of work and stress too but everything turned out fine 🙂
Yes, it’s a fun tag and, if I do say so myself, great books!

It’s a fun tag to actually watch people do 🙂
I think they were in fashion for a bit and have maybe gone out again now?
Thanks 🙂
